My name is Maleah and I am 34 years old. A wife to my high school sweetheart and a mother to a energized two-year girl and a baby boy on the way (I am currently 23 weeks pregnant).
You can also refer to me as the avid Sugar Fanatic or Junk Food Lover. If anything has sugar on it, in it or around it….it usually is calling my name. In years before, I have always thought that I was pretty fit. I worked out 6 days a week, was extremely active and basically ate whatever I want. People always say they wish that they could eat whatever they want and still look good. I felt like I was one of the lucky ones. I thought that I was one of those people, until I became pregnant with my daughter. During my first pregnancy, I followed the same routine I did before, Eat whatever and workout. I also lived by the infamous rule of “I am eating for two”
I GAINED 75lbs during that pregnancy. 75lbs!!!!!!!!
I figured it would just melt off of my body, especially since I would be breastfeeding. But none of the weight melted off. If anything, it stuck to me like glue. I tried altering my eating habits but it was extremely hard to find that sweet spot. I couldn’t figure out how to lose the post baby weight and my daughter had just had her 1 st birthday. I was over the extra weight I was carrying and I wanted to feel better during my workouts and in general.
That’s when I discovered macros. I started counting/tracking macros in Jan 2016. I had great success and realized that this was what I needed! Then I discovered I was pregnant with my second child. I have never tracked macros during a pregnancy and I didn’t even
know where to start. I thought I could teach myself but ended up coming up with wrong information and wasn’t extremely set on the idea of tracking macros pregnant SOLO. I felt that if I were to attempt this solo I would gain the same amount of weight I did with my first pregnancy. I was determined to not do that again.
This is when I decided to come to Revised Nutrition. I needed the one-on-one coaching, guidance and support that they could give me. The weekly check in’s, spreadsheet and pictures really helped me stay on track. On days where I felt I lost sight of my goals, that’s where my nutrition coach, Ashley, really provided great support. There was no feeling of judgement or disappointment. She was always positive and supportive. That’s the type of support that people need when they are striving for healthy fitness goals. Revised Nutrition also helped me realize that I could still eat healthy and enjoy what I was eating. I have always been turned off by the terms “eating healthy” because I always assumed that the food was boring. Revised Nutrition has great recipes and tips on great things to eat. That was a huge eye opener for me since I always assumed that eating healthy was boring. I feel better this pregnancy. I AM much more in tune with how my body is feeling and what I am eating. Don’t get me wrong I still indulge…I mean I AM pregnant. But I try to choose healthy options when I indulge, or I make sure it fits my numbers. I also feel like I am still maintaining my strength and energy during my workouts. The biggest thing I have learned from Revised Nutrition is that this is a lifestyle not a diet. I am extremely happy with my pregnancy progress and am very pleased with the support from Revised Nutrition and Ashley.
